NYC Science Communication has a New President!

 

  Jaclyn Kubala  President-elect of NYC SciComm

Currently a PhD candidate at Weill Cornell Medicine, Jaclyn works in joint labs to develop therapeutic tools for kidney cancer using nanotechnology. With great passion in science communication, she feels honored and excited to serve as the next President of NYC SciComm starting this September.

“I hope to further expand the organization so that we can promote effective science communication for all.”

 

From the Board of Directors and Advisory Board:

NYC SciComm is excited to announce our President-elect, Jaclyn Kubala, after a thorough review of applications by our Advisory Board and Board of Directors. Jaclyn is recruited because she is eloquent, passionate, and eager to learn and contribute to NYC SciComm.

Our adviser, Eric Vieira, and President, Yue Liu will closely mentor Jaclyn and help her onboard. Jaclyn will serve as the President starting in September 2017 for 1-2 years,  and will lead the Board of Directors, Institutional Representatives, and Editorial Board, in consultation with our Advisory Board.

We congratulate Jaclyn and look forward to the growth and thriving of NYC SciComm under her leadership!

Writing in the Sciences: Self-paced Online Writing Course Provided by Stanford University, this course teaches scientists to become more effective writers, using practical examples and exercises. Topics include:

principles of good writing, tricks for writing faster and with less anxiety, and issues in publication and peer review. Course participants who score 60% and above will receive a Statement of Accomplishment.
